Dr. Geoffrey Tompkins has over twenty years of experience at Redwood
Orthopaedic Surgery Associates performing arthroscopic and replacement surgery
of the hip, knee, and shoulder. He has performed over two thousand hip and knee
replacement surgeries. Originally certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic
Surgery in 1996, Dr. Tompkins regularly attends continuing education courses on
current surgical techniques and has twice passed rigorous recertification
examinations to maintain his credentials. He has published research papers and
has given numerous presentations on topics related to joint replacement surgery.
He is a participating surgeon in the FORCE-TJR registry at the University of
Massachusetts – a research project which evaluates joint replacement patients pre-
and post-operatively to identify factors leading to best outcomes. He is also a
reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty, the most respected journal for hip and knee
replacement res reach.
